Artificial Hip Implants:
We represent clients who have suffered injuries as a result of defective artificial hip implant devices. On January 26, 2011, Jayne Conroy was appointed by United States District Judge David Katz of the Northern District of Ohio to serve on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the DePuy Artificial Hip Implant Recall multidistrict litigation.

Chantix:
We represent clients who have been injured by this smoking cessation drug, which has been linked to suicidal thoughts and actions, serious accidents, and mood and behavioral changes. United States District Court Judge Inge Johnson has appointed Clint Fisher and Jayne Conroy to leadership positions in the Chantix Products Liability Litigation pending in the Northern District of Alabama. Mr. Fisher is a member of the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee and Ms. Conroy is Co-Lead State Liaison Counsel.

Yasmin and Yaz:
We represent individuals who have suffered cardiovascular injury, including heart attacks and strokes, as well as kidney and gall bladder injuries, as a result of ingesting the contraceptives Yasmin and Yaz. This multi-district litigation is pending before United States District Judge David Herndon in the Southern District of Illinois. Jayne Conroy serves as Co-Chair of the Plaintiffs’ Law and Briefing Committee.

Avandia:
We represent individuals with diabetes who have taken this drug for their condition only to suffer heart attacks, strokes, congestive heart failure and other injuries.

Reglan:
Reglan, or metoclopramide, has been prescribed for many years to treat a number of gastrointestinal conditions. Unfortunately, it also has severe side effects when used longer than indicated. We represent individuals who took Reglan, or its generic equivalents, and suffer from Tardive Dyskinesia, Parkinson’s like symptoms, or seizures.

Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor and other Selective-Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors
We are involved in the investigation and litigation of claims on behalf of women who took any of the above anti-depressants during pregnancy and gave birth to a child with serious birth defects. If you or a family member has suffered such an injury please call 212.784.6400 for a free legal consultation.

Gadolinium-based Contrast Dyes:
We represented individuals who suffered nephrogenic systemic fibrosis ("NSF") or nephrogenic fibrosing dermopathy ("NFD") after being injected with these contrast agents prior to undergoing Magnetic Resonance Imaging ("MRI") or Magnetic Resonance Angiography ("MRA") scan procedures. NSF and NFD are very rare conditions that are almost exclusively linked to patients with kidney conditions who are administered gadolinium injections during routine MRIs and MRAs. This litigation, encompassing both federal and state claims, targeted giants General Electric, Bayer and Mallinckrodt, and involved complex issues of science and medicine and horrific, often fatal injuries. United States District Court Judge Dan A. Pollster named Jayne Conroy to the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee in the multi-district federal litigation pending in Cleveland, Ohio.

Bextra and Celebrex:
We were extensively involved in litigation against Pfizer concerning these "Cox II inhibitors" from 2005 through 2008. In 2006, Paul Hanly was court-appointed to three positions: as a member of the Plaintiffs’ Coordinating Committee in the coordinated New York State Bextra and Celebrex Products Liability Litigation, as liaison counsel between those proceedings and their federal multidistrict litigation ("MDL") counterpart, and as a member of the MDL Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee. Also in 2006, Jayne Conroy was selected to serve leading roles on the Discovery and Science Committees in those two litigations.  Clint Fisher was added to the Discovery Committee in 2007. In 2008 Ms. Conroy was one of three negotiators of the global settlement of this litigation for nearly $900 million, including hundreds of cases for clients of the firm.

Zelnorm:
We represented numerous clients injured while taking Zelnorm, a drug that was used to treat irritable bowel syndrome and that was linked to cardiovascular injuries. Clint Fisher served as co-lead counsel in the consolidated New Jersey litigation of these cases.

Zyprexa:
We were actively involved in products liability actions alleging personal injuries from ingestion of this anti-psychotic medication, resulting in a very favorable, multi-million dollar settlement in 2007 for clients of the firm.

Ephedra:
We successfully represented and recovered substantial compensation for numerous plaintiffs harmed by ingestion of over-the-counter dietary supplements containing the dangerous herb Ephedra.

OxyContin:
We represented thousands of clients who had become addicted to the dangerous opioid analgesic OxyContin. We had the leadership role in the coordinated litigation in New York and achieved a successful settlement for our clients.
